A 16-year-old was taken into custody and charged as a juvenile with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during violent crime. He was transported to Department of Juvenile Justice in Columbia.Lt. Turner said they had a prior altercation and this was likely retaliation.

    Several people were hurt when an SUV flipped in a crash in Horry County on Friday afternoon. The crash happened just after 1:30 at SC 544 and SC 31, according to the SC Highway Patrol. A white SUV flipped over in the crash, which involved 2 vehicles and the top had to be cut off to access the injured people inside. Four people were transported to area hospitals as a result of injuries sustained in the crash, which closed westbound lanes of SC 544.

Officials put up a temporary tower -- at 85 feet high, it's about a quarter the height of the previous tower -- while they work to build a new tower in a different location. But a News 13 investigation found radio reception so poor in some areas of Marion County, there was, at times, no reception.

    The Enterprise road closure that was scheduled to begin in August won't start until next year.That construction is part of the Highway 31 extension project.Horry County spokesperson Lisa Bourcier tells News13 the contractor will decide around the first of the year when the closure will begin.Once that happens, Enterprise road should be closed for about nine months.Bourcier says this delay will not affect the end date for the Highway 31 project.

    Police have released the names of three people killed in a wreck in Fayetteville.Lt. Todd Joyce said the wreck involved two pickup trucks and two cars around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.The victims were 67-year-old John Wesley Morrow of Fayetteville, 50-year-old Jimmy Campbell of Lumberton and 35-year-old Laytosha NcNair of Raeford.The driver of the second car was not seriously hurt.Police are still investigating how the crash occurred.

    An 87-year-old WWII veteran said Wednesday it's not right that he is being fined $6,500 for finding a dead dolphin in his gill net. Outside the Georgetown County Courthouse, C.P. Mincey said, "we enjoy fishing for spots in the fall of the year." Mincey and his wife Betty live in Nichols in Marion County.
