    Dillon Darlings went undefeated in the state tournament for Dixie Softball. The team made up of girls ages 8 and under will leave Thursday to compete in the World Series in Bay St Louis Mississippi. The Latta softball team ages 12U State Champion softball team returned to Latta with a police escort down Main Street last week. They are also headed to the World Series for their division. Both teams have been hosting fundraisers to help pay for their trips to the world series.

    A shooting on Miles Saturday, July19th, sent a 17-year-old victimto the hospital.Lt. Larry Turner with Bennettsville Police said the teen was treated and released. A 16-year-old was taken into custody and charged as a juvenile with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during violent crime. He was transported to Department of Juvenile Justice in Columbia.Lt. Turner said they had a prior altercation and this was likely retaliation.

    A house fire has damaged part of a home in Florence Saturday night, according to officials with the West Florence Fire Department.Battalion Chief Anthony Fox says first responders were dispatched to the home at 1307 W. Sumter St. in Florence around 8 p.m. Flames and smoke were visible from the house upon arrival, according to Fox. It is estimated one-quarter of the home was on fire.It is unclear if anyone was injured. Count on News13 to bring you the latest developments on this story.

Officials put up a temporary tower -- at 85 feet high, it's about a quarter the height of the previous tower -- while they work to build a new tower in a different location. But a News 13 investigation found radio reception so poor in some areas of Marion County, there was, at times, no reception.
