4 detained in Myrtle Beach shooting on Ocean Blvd.

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) - Myrtle Beach police say four people have been detained in connection with a reported shooting outside an attraction on Ocean Boulevard Thursday morning.

Myrtle Beach police responded to two shootings within three hours in the overnight hours heading into Thursday morning.

Captain Joey Crosby with the Myrtle Beach Police Department says officers responded to 9th Avenue North and Ocean Boulevard around 1 a.m. Thursday morning for a report of a shooting.

People were sitting on the steps of Ripley's Believe It Or Not, according to Captain Crosby, and started shooting at two vehicles driving down Ocean Blvd. Captain Crosby says four people have been detained in connection with the investigation but no names have been released.

Police say the vehicles fled the scene west on 9th Ave N. The vehicles are described as a red Jeep Cherokee and a black Lexus sedan.

Traffic on Ocean Blvd. was diverted at 9th Ave N and Joe White Ave. Detectives investigated the scene as well as the city's surveillance cameras. There were no reports of injuries at last check nor have police released a suspect description.

Just hours prior to the 9th Ave. N. shooting, officers were called to a shooting about one mile away in the parking lot of the Days Inn hotel, located at 806 S. Ocean Blvd. One person was hurt in that shooting. Police have not said whether it's believed the two shootings are related.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Myrtle Beach police at 843-918-1382
