Darlington pastor jailed on charges of sex crimes against a child

DARLINGTON, SC (WBTW) – A Darlington youth minister has been jailed on accusations he touched a young boy inappropriately on multiple occasions, according to the Darlington City Police.

Police Chief Daniel Watson confirms Kamron Eugene Reames, of Georgiana Lane in Darlington, was arrested Thursday on two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct involving a minor.

On Friday, a judge granted bond both a $20,000 in cash and a $50,000 surety bond for Reames.

However, his family and police say they are concerned for his mental state.

Authorities say he was showing signs of suicidal tendencies and the judge recommended the family not to post bond.

With these charges he could face 10 years for each charge.

Reames has a court date set for February 2016.

The victim, whose age was not released, told an adult about Reames' alleged actions and the Darlington Police Department initiated an investigation, Chief Watson explains. Chief Watson adds "compelling evidence supporting the complaint was substantiated," leading to Reames' arrest.

Central Baptist released a statement on Friday regarding the situation.

Dear Congregation,We want you to know that we are aware of the current situation involving our Youth Pastor Kamron Reames. As of this time, he has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the legal situation.
