Myrtle Beach police arrest man for 2014 deadly shooting

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) - Almost two years later, officers have arrested a man in a deadly shooting incident at a Myrtle Beach apartment.

Booking records say Myrtle Beach police arrested Pierre Alexander Haile, 50, on Tuesday.  Haile was charged with murder and obstructing justice.

The incident report says officers were called to an apartment on Cherokee Street on Oct. 18, 2014 in reference to a shooting. On arrival, first responders found a man lying on his back in front of the building with blood coming out of a gunshot wound on his chest. When EMS arrived, they verified that the man was dead.

The Horry County Coroner's Office identified the victim as Stephen Skinner, 34, of Asheville, North Carolina.

Earlier records show that Furman Coy Knight, 20, of Myrtle Beach was also charged with murder in the incident in 2014.

The arrest warrant states Knight made contact with the victim to buy drugs.  Authorities say they had a physical confrontation which led to the shooting.
