Kelly Brucker joined the WBTW News13 news team in November 2012 as a Digital Journalist after graduating from Baldwin Wallace University with a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism and a minor in public relations.
Kelly comes to News13 from Cleveland, Ohio, where she "caught the TV bug" when she was just twelve-years-old and was selected to join SCS T.V., a student-run news program in her hometown. By her senior year of high school, in addition to reporting and anchoring, Kelly was the student producer and director of SCS T.V.
After discovering a passion for news, she decided to pursue broadcasting as her major at Otterbein University. While at Otterbein Kelly was an anchor and reporter for WOCC TV3 and spent a semester as a DJ on WOBN 97.5.
After a year at Otterbein, she ventured across the country to Sam Houston State University in southeast Texas, where she was a reporter and weather anchor for KSHU TV7 and vice president of The National Honor Society's Alpha Epsilon Rho. Kelly learned the ins and outs of the newsroom during her internship at KTRK ABC 13 in Houston, TX and gained valuable reporting experience.
She completed her final three semesters close to home at Baldwin Wallace University where she was a producer for BW-TV and host of Spot on What's Going on?!.
Kelly is very excited to begin her broadcasting career in the Pee Dee and to be so close to the beach. While she will miss everyone back home, she says she will definitely not miss Ohio's snow or cold temperatures.
In her spare time, Kelly enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, curling up to a good book, and cheering on the Cleveland Browns, Indians, and Cavaliers!
She loves meeting new people and is always looking for good story ideas; feel free to contact her at email@example.com to share your story.
