Conway police make arrest in fatal shooting

CONWAY, S.C. -

Conway Police have charged Rashad Derller Burroughs, 19, of Conway with murder and two counts and attempted murder in connection with a shooting that occurred on Monday, January 7, at 2:36 p.m. in the Sugar Hill Community of Conway. 

 Burroughs was arrested without incident Monday evening and was transported to the Horry County Detention Center where he is awaiting a bond hearing.

On Monday, January 07, 2013, 2:36 p.m., Conway Police officers were dispatched to a residence in the 2000 block of 6th Avenue in reference to a shooting.  Upon arrival officers located two male victims, one on the ground outside of the residence and another inside of the residence.

Both victims were transported to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center for treatment.  One victim received a non-life threatening gun shot wound to the lower extremities, was treated and released.  The other victim died the following day as a result of a gunshot wound to the head.

The case remains under investigation at this time and Conway Police are requesting anyone with information to please call 843-248-1790.
