HARTSVILLE, S.C. -

Hartsville police investigate a homicide of a man found dead on West Washington Street in the city limits of Hartsville.  Darlington County Coroner J. Todd Hardee identified the man as 51-year-old Chandler Spencer.

Police were called to Mr. Chandler's apartment on Monday, March 4, after family members discovered his body.  He had not been seen since Thursday afternoon. 

Coroner Hardee reviewed the results of an autopsy and ruled the death a homicide.

Police also report Mr. Spencer's white, 1998 Chrysler Town and Country minivan, South Carolina tag HUU-352 is missing. Police also report other missing items from Spencer's home, including his wallet, cell phone, a flat-screen television and some jewelry.

So far, no word of how Spencer died and no word of any suspects in the case.
