    A second American working in Liberia has tested positive for the Ebola virus, according to the Christian group with whom she works. WASHINGTON, N.C. -

Its competition time for hundreds of high school students in eastern North Carolina.

On Saturday, sixteen teams faced off at Washington High School's 13th annual JROTC competition.

"It's there sporting event, their thing that they do. When they come off the floor and they know they've done well, you can see it in their eyes. It's the pride of doing that," said competition supervisor Lieutenant Tom Meeks.

"It's really cool seeing all the other schools out that are doing the same things we're doing; and, just getting that competitive drive in all of us," South Central High School's, Megan Roman.

In the morning, teams showed off their athletic skills in the raider competition. Squads faced off in events including, rock climbing, first-aid, and rope drills.

In the afternoon, teams showed off their precision in the drill competition. Squads squared off in marching, coordination, color guard, and fancy riffle skills.

Joseph Knox of Washington High School helped recruit teams for Saturday's competition.

"Other schools like coming out and seeing the competition and seeing how good other schools are. The competitions feel just drives everybody gets everybody really excited," said Knox.

Saturday's competition is the largest of its kind in eastern North Carolina.
