FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -

Two Fort Bragg soldiers were killed in a car crash Thursday night at Yadkin Road and Cimarron Drive in Fayetteville.

Now, police say, the soldiers car may have been street racing. And officers are looking for the other car they may have been racing.

The accident happened around 9:30pm. Witnesses told WNCN they heard a loud roar, and then the impact.

"All the traffic came to a halt, and everybody got out trying to help," said Frank Gin, a witness.

Police say the soldiers were in a Pontiac GTO, and slammed into a Jetta in the oncoming lane.

The two people in that car were taken to the hospital, but are expected to survive.

The two soldiers were identified as Michael Hickey, 25, and Amber Bostian, 26. Both Hickey and Bostian were stationed at Fort Bragg.

The investigation is ongoing.
