GREENVILLE, NC -

Greenville Police Department's Special Victims Unit and the North Carolina SBI arrested a Johnston County man in connection to an alleged rape and kidnapping.

In March Greenville Police responded to a report of sexual assault and kidnapping that had been reportedly going on for several months. Detectives now say that they believe William Ayers met a 15-year-old girl from Greenville on the Internet.

From August to November of 2012 police say Ayers took the girl to places in Greenville, Raleigh, and Johnston County where he engaged in sexual acts with her. They believe there were around 20 separate incidents.

Police are not releasing any more details about the juvenile victim.

William Ayers IV was arrested and charged with Statutory Rape, Kidnapping, and First Degree Sex Offense. He was booked at the Pitt County Detention Center under a $1 million bond.
