CONWAY, SC (WBTW) -

An Horry County Deputy Sheriff has lost is his life following complications after suffering smoke inhalation injuries on the day of the Windsor Green condo fire in mid-March.  The Sheriff's Office announced the death of Deputy Tim Causey Sunday morning.

On the HCSO's Facebook page, the agency reported, "It is with deep regret that we have to report that our friend and coworker, Deputy Sheriff Tim Causey, passed away this morning as has gone to be with the Lord."

The message goes on to say that Deputy Causey "passed away around 9am at the Medical University of South Carolina."

When News13 spoke with Causey's wife at a fundraiser in late April, Donna Causey described the lawman with these words, "Just a loving, giving person, would do anything for anybody, very sweet and kind person."

The HCSO post also said, "Please pray for peace, strength and understanding for the Causey family. We will pass along the arrangements as soon as we get them."
