    The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that happened in Horry County on Tuesday afternoon.The crash happened at 12:53 pm on the SC Highway 9 bypass at Log Cabin Road, the SC Highway Patrol said.

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for many counties in SC, including several in the Pee Dee.
 
At 5:45, the watch was expanded to include coastal counties as well.
 
The weather service said that several tornadoes are likely along with numerous damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely.
 
 
There might also be a few large hail events to 1 inch in diameter possible

The Tornado Watch area is approximately along and 100 statute miles east and west of a line from 45 miles north of Raleigh to 35 miles west of Orangeburg. 

A  Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible warnings.
