MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) - A North Carolina teenager was charged with felony DUI after a weekend crash killed one person and injured two others.

According to a Myrtle Beach police report, the incident happened around 11:30 p.m. Friday night at South Kings Highway and Farrow Parkway.

Police said Taifa Kituku, 18, of Kannapolis ran a stop light and collided with another vehicle.  The passengers in that vehicle were able to walk away.

One passenger in Kituku's car, a 19-year-old male, was killed at the scene and two others were taken to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Kituku was taken to the hospital for treatment.  He told police the crash was his fault and broke down in tears, the report said.

he is charged with 3 counts of felony DUI.
