MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) -

Amanda McCargar said she couldn't believe when she heard radio host David "Kidd" Kraddick had died. She said she owes the world to him for giving her daughter Christina an unforgettable trip.

"She was very ill at that time and had a couple of brain surgeries and we were so excited that she could get away and just have a couple of days to just be a kid," said McCargar.

Kidd's foundation "Kidd's Kids" brought chronically and terminally ill children to Disney World every November.

"It was extremely exciting because we got to meet Kidd Kraddick and the whole gang," said Christina.

McCargar's daughter Christina was selected as one of three from Myrtle Beach to go on last November's trip.

"They had asked what is the one thing when you get to Disney World that she would like to do above all other things and hers was to meet Kidd Kraddick. He was her big thing, she loves him. She thinks he's the greatest D.J. in the world," said McCargar.

McCargar said Kraddick brought Christina on stage and talked to her for a while on his radio show "Kidd Kraddick in the Morning." He also met her the next day to take pictures.

"He is my biggest hero in the world because I wouldn't be going on a Disney trip without him," said Christina.

Christina can now look at those pictures and always have memories of meeting her favorite radio host.

"I told her he's up in the heavens and all the kids that he's seen chronically ill, terminally ill, he's going to help us out from heaven," said McCargar.
