A class action lawsuit has been filed against a popular seafood restaurant in downtown Charleston, after employees allege their tips were kept from them unfairly. Former employees of Eli Hyman, and other owners of Hyman’s Seafood, are suing for minimum wages and overtime compensation. They allege the restaurant’s policy violates the Fair Labor Standards act. Under what’s known as the tip credit, server’s can be paid less than $7.25 as long as their tips get them to or about the minimum ...

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -

An SC man made famous for his out-of-nowhere Democratic primary win for US Senate in 2010 has been charged with trespassing.

Alvin Greene, who ran against Republican Jim Demint for the US Senate seat, was charged on Friday with trespassing by Myrtle Beach Police, according to the J. Reuben Detention Center website.

Greene, who had no political experience, won the Democratic nomination  for US Senate in 2010, but lost to Demint in the general election.

On Friday, Greene was arrested at an apartment complex. A report says he was walking around disoriented and asked for paramedics. They checked on Greene, and he was then taken into custody.

Greene, now age 25, was booked into jail just before 8 pm on Friday and has been in jail all weekend.

Greene is still being held on a $262 bond with the charge of trespassing on another's land without permission - 1st offense.

Back before he was the enigmatic Democratic nominee, Greene was also in legal trouble.

Greene was charged with misdemeanor and felony counts of showing pornography to a USC student in a dorm computer room, then asking to go to her room.

Those charges were later erased when he accepted entry into a pre-trial intervention program.
