A Florida beach cleared out – with the exception of a woman and lifeguard who tried to save her – when a shark was spotted heading straight toward swimmers on Tuesday afternoon. The panic of the 10-foot shark and people screaming from the pier was caught on tape. “This just happened off Navarre Beach Pier... 10 ft hammerhead going right at a swimmer and lifeguard.....insane!” wrote Dan Flynn, who posted the video to Facebook.

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) -

According to Myrtle Beach Police just before 4 a.m. Friday a car hit and killed a pedestrian near the intersection of Highway 17 Bypass and 48th Avenue North.

Police had closed the Northbound lanes of the bypass, but they were reopened shortly before 6:30 a.m.

Horry County Deputy Coroner Darris Fowler says the victim is 28-year-old Shane Cary from Somerset, New Jersey.  Cary died from blunt force trauma.

Myrtle Beach Police says Cary was walking north in the right lane of 17 Bypass North when a Chevy Impala that was traveling in the same direction hit him.

Cary was killed at the scene.

Myrtle Beach Police says Cary was at-fault and the driver will not be criminally charged.  Police say the driver told them he didn't see Cary walking until it was too late and could not avoid hitting him.
