HARTSVILLE, SC -

A person died in a crash that happened just outside of Hartsville in Darlington County on Wednesday, authorities say.

The crash happened around 3:10 pm on US15/N. Fifth Street at Pacific Drive, which is near where N. Fifth Street intersects with N. Marquis Highway, less than a mile east of Hartsville town limits.

South Carolina Highway Patrol Troopers said that the driver of tractor trailer truck was traveling south on SC 15, but ran off the left side of road and into trees.

The driver of the truck was wearing a seat belt but died in the crash, troopers said.

As of 5:15 pm, the SC HP reported that the scene of the crash was still active.

Darlington County Coroner Todd Hardee identified the victim as 49 year old Anthony Moore of Cheraw. Hardee said Shaw may have suffered a natural "health related incident" that led to the crash and that it's possible he did not die from the crash, but before the crash happened.

Hardee said that an autopsy would be performed Thursday to determine the cause of death.
