JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. -- A couple accused of selling their children to a sex film ring will remain in custody until their case is completed.

40 year-old Connie Sue McCall and her husband, 61 year-old Ronnie Lee McCall waived their right to a detention hearing on Tuesday in federal court in Greeneville.

A federal grand jury charged the couple with selling children for the purpose of creating child porn and other sex-related charges.

The couple has 4 children and has run into trouble with child neglect charges in the past with at least one child.

The US Attorney's Office picked up the case after they learned one of the children had been taken to South Carolina to make porn, WATE-TV reported.

The victims in the case are three of the McCalls' four daughters — ages 5, 11, 14 and 16 — at the time, the Johnson City Press reported.

The youngest child was not involved in the pornography incidents but was a victim in another child neglect case against the McCalls.

The Johnson City Press also reported that the man, who lived in Kentucky, who allegedly had sexual contact with the girls and taped the encounters has since committed suicide.

Back in July 2012  Johnson City police arrested the McCalls.

The charges against them then were felony child abuse and neglect.

At the time, investigators said the family lived in a mobile home and described the conditions inside the home as "deplorable."

The couple neglected their six year-old daughter to the point she had head and body lice, flea bites, ringworm, and severe dental problems, officials said.
