NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -

The Horry County Board of Education voted to bring some big changes to three schools in North Myrtle Beach.

Uneven classroom sizes have plagued the city, as the primary school for kindergarten and first graders is over capacity;  the elementary for second and third graders is at capacity; and the intermediate school for fourth and fifth graders has room to grow.

Now things should even out because according to school board member Harvey Eisner, the plan to have all three schools, all be kindergarten through fifth grade, was unanimously approved by the board Monday night.  The changes will go into effect in the Fall of 2014.

The Horry County School board will meet next month to continue its discussion on overcrowding in Carolina Forest area schools.
