Horry County Major Crimes Detectives searched the area of Peachtree Landing in Socastee on Friday after a 20-year old woman went missing last week.

A helicopter and boat were brought in for the search along with four wheelers. An Horry County Fire Rescue crew as well as DNR officials helped Horry County Police with the search Heather Elvis, who was last heard from on Tuesday.

Horry County Police Lt. Robert Kegler tells News13 Heather Elvis was reported missing after her car was found abandoned near Peachtree Landing along the Waccamaw River on Thursday night.

There have been no updates since authorities stopped their search late Friday afternoon. The community did gather for a vigil for Heather Sunday evening at First Baptist Church of Myrtle Beach.

UPDATE: Reward increased to $10,000 for missing Myrtle Beach woman

Also over the weekend, the parents of Heather Elvis started a Facebook page to help spread awareness about the missing young woman.

"We are asking for our help in finding our daughter, Heather is a beautiful young woman with a heart of gold, she is so full of love and kindness, will you help us to find her and get her back home?" the page says.

The FindHeatherElvis Facebook page has more than 8,000 members in just 2 days. The page includes where to get a flyer for Elvis and some photos.

"I so very much dislike offering a reward for someone to step forward and do the moral and right thing but in this world we live in, it has become an evil to battle the evils we live with daily.
Do not think ill of anyone who can provide the information needed to close this case, I will gladly give my life and anything I own to insure Heather's return and her safety and I will thank you daily for the rest of my life," the Facebook page said on the About page.

On Friday, the search by police seemed to focus on the area where her car was found.

"Law Enforcement utilized the Horry County Police boat, the Myrtle Beach Police boat, the DNR boat and the HCFR boat, along with a SLED helicopter to search the area of the Intracoastal Waterway where her vehicle was located," police said in a statement Friday afternoon.

"There is no sign that she is in or near the water at this time."

Elvis is from Myrtle Beach and works at the Tilted Kilt Pub and Eatery, according to her Facebook page. No word if anything was found inside her car that would offer clues to the case.

Major Crimes Detectives are continuing the investigation.

If you have any information about her whereabouts you are asked to call the Horry County Police Department: (843) 915-5350.
