HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) -

All of the schools in our area are closed and plenty of businesses did not open Wednesday, as well.

But, some businesses slowly open their doors as the day gets going.

Despite the weather, however, some businesses still open their doors.

The CVS at the Backgate in Horry County, and all in our area, was one of those businesses.  Of course, the pharmacy at CVS is one of the most popular draws no matter the weather, but even the general items the store provides is beneficial.

Another business hoping to make money is The Countertop Store around the corner from News 13 on Coalition Drive.

The owner said he's had plenty of calls Wednesday and doesn't want to get behind on work.

"We're open today just to keep the business going," said owner Kevin Hepburn.  "We've got jobs still coming up even though the weather (is bad), we can't stop because of the ice.  We're here to get it done."

Hepburn went on to say he has a full staff Wednesday but did tell employees to use their best judgement about coming in or not.
