GREENVILLE, N.C. - A new ECU Pirate logo unveiled this week is being challenged by an online petition. Now a proposed compromise is trending online.

9 On Your Side went over to campus today to talk directly to students and the new athletic director about the controversy surrounding the new "Undaunted" logo.

Many students continued to voice their concerns and most that we spoke to actually prefer the newest logo now gaining traction after someone posted it online.

What some are calling a "compromise" logo also brings up the crossbones from below the skull and adds the letters "ECU" as well, but the hat and the teeth stay the same.

New Athletic Director Jeff Compher, who unveiled the logo at a press conference on Monday, says he expected a little push-back, praising our passionate fans, but Compher also says he's very happy with their decision.

This conversation is ongoing. Head on over to our Facebook page and join in.
