DARLINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) -

Captain Andy Locklair with the Darlington County Sheriff's Office reports deputies and narcotics agents were called to the 400 block of Rio Drive for a possible meth lab Saturday evening.

Units were called to the scene after a man there said he had been using meth and feared someone was trying to kill him.  Locklair goes on to say, in a press release, that the man met with deputies in the front yard once they arrived.  Responders took the man to the hospital since he was "under the influence."

When deputies went back to the house to see if anyone was there, they found three trash burn piles in the back yard.  Locklair says, in the trash were items associated with cooking meth.  He says deputies backed away from the house and called drug agents.

Two more people came out of the house.  When a search warrant was secured, Capt. Locklair says, agents went into the home with protective equipment.  He says they did not find an active meth lab but did fine materials associated with one.

He goes on to say agents found a little bit of marijuana and what is believed to be meth.

Darlington County Sheriff's Deputies arrested two people.  Travis O'Neal, 26, from Darlington, is in the Darlington County Detention Center charged with manufacturing/distribution of methamphetamine.

Jerome Strickland, 30, from Darlington is also in the Darlington County Detention Center charged with manufacturing/distribution of methamphetamine  and  possession of marijuana.
