GREENVILLE, SC -

A man is under arrest after deputies say he shot and killed a security outside Platinum Plus in Greenville early Tuesday.

Jose Luis Aceveno-Lopez, 31, is charged in the murder of Charles Adam Timmons outside the club on Frontage Road.

The Greenville County Sheriff's Office reports Lopez left the club just before 2:00 a.m. without paying a bill. Timmons - a security guard - followed Lopez to his car as he acted as if he was going to leave.

Investigators say Lopez lunged at the guard and then shot Timmons in the lower torso.

Lopez tried to drive away from the business, but got stuck when he drove into a large pile of dirt. Other Platinum Plus security guards held Lopez until deputies arrived.

A TASER was used on Lopez to take him into custody.

The Greenville County Coroner's Office tells us Timmons was taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Lopez is charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. He's being held at the Greenville County Detention Center under no bond.
