    (WCBD) More evidence has surfaced that lead experts to believe that the Gaboon Viper is still on the loose in Harbor Pointe Apartments. What is now only pieces of the snake's skin was approximately 95% of the shed skin when it was found, only missing part of the head.

    Earlier this week Latta Mayor Earl Bullard fired the town's Police Chief, Crystal Moore. Latta Town Councilman Jared Taylor told News13 the mayor decided to fire Moore because she received 7 reprimands.

The Duplin County Sheriff's Office confirms the arrest of one of the suspects in a February homicide.

Deputies say James Earl Newton Jr. was arrested on Mar. 3rd in Santa Barbara, California.  The FBI, Santa Barbara Sheriff's Office, and Lompoc Police Department assisted in the capture of Newton.

Newton is charged with the Feb 13th.  murder of 21-year-old   McKinley Beaty Jr. Beaty died after being shot several times outside a KFC in Warsaw just after midnight.

Deputies say they are still looking for the second suspect, Isaiah Q. Smith.

The Duplin County Sheriff's Office names James Newton and Isaiah Smith as the shooting suspects for last's weeks fatal shooting.

They are both wanted for shooting and killing 21-year-old McKinley Beaty, Jr.

The Duplin County Sheriff's Office has released the name of a man killed near Warsaw.

Sheriff Blake Wallace tells 9 On Your side 21-year-old McKinley Beaty, Jr. was found with gunshot wounds shortly after midnight Thursday. Beaty is from the Norfolk, VA area. They believe he was only in Eastern North Carolina for a few days.

Sheriff Wallace says Beaty was alive when a Warsaw Police officer found him near the KFC on Highway 24. He was transported by ambulance to Vidant Duplin but died from his injuries.

Deputies released two surveillance photos Thursday afternoon of an SUV in connection with the case.
