SOCASTEE, S.C. (WBTW) -

Friday volunteers were still posted at the "Tip Tent" in Socastee even after the news of two arrests made in connection to the Heather Elvis case.

While a majority of Horry County's focus was on the arrests of Sidney Moorer and Tammy Moorer, Melissa Gray did not let that slow down her goal.

"Still take any tips that we can possibly get to bring heather home to her family," said Gray.

Gray says she has been a part of the effort to find Heather Elvis since the beginning.

She says she can relate to the Elvis family's loss.

"If it was my daughter, I would hope that others would do the same thing for me," said Gray.

On Friday night, her daughter and niece were right alongside her on Highway 544 handing out flyers, and they were not the only ones.

Tip Tent volunteers lined the streets and residents pulled over to show their support by purchasing t-shirts going towards the "Find Heather Elvis Fund" or taking handfuls of flyers to spread through their community.

"So many people have been affected by this and so many people are out crying for a resolution, and the community just wants to see this family come back together," said Matthew Stoddard.

Stoddard has known the Elvis family for years.

He is also one of the people behind the creation of the find heather Elvis Facebook page.

Stoddard says Heather Elvis' story has touched the world.

He says they have received support on Facebook from people across the country and even overseas.

Stoddard says the announcement of the two arrests on Friday will not affect their efforts.

"We're going to be out here, Heather is not home. The goal is to bring Heather home," he said.

Stoddard says for every car that sees their sign, or every flyer they hand out they gain more support to reunite the Elvis family.

He says the Tip Tent will be manned all weekend, 24 hours straight, until 6 p.m. Sunday evening.
