NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) -

Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach will get 10 new stores to its location in 2014.

They are IT'S SUGAR, Auntie Anne's Pretzels, Hat Fanatic, M.R. ducks, My Mobile, A Silver Shack, Geneva Time Exchange, Yours and Mayan, Trickmaster Magic Shop and Crabby Jack's General Store.

Lisa Wise, a sales associate at Yours and Mayan, said some customers at their Broadway at the Beach location wanted a store closer to the North Carolina line. And they got their wish.

"We had several ladies here the other day and they didn't event know we were here. They just brought some friends that were in town from Connecticut and saw the sign and were so excited and were like, 'we can't believe you opened up a store up here' and they were going to go back and tell all their friends who have already shopped the Broadway store. So that was a good thing," said Wise.

Wise said the North Myrtle Beach location will also draw in a new crowd.

"We get a lot of the south end people and now with this store being here we'll get the north end people that don't travel. There are a lot of people who don't like to travel to the heart of Myrtle Beach during the summer because it is very crowded," said Wise.

A Silver Shack, another store being added to Barefoot Landing who also has a location at Broadway at the Beach, was in the process of getting ready for their opening on Tuesday.

"We've had a store here previously, years ago, but now that they've made changes, they're starting to make changes at Barefoot [and] we feel like it's going to be a better fit," said Marsha Thorpe, a co-owner at A Silver Shack.

Thorpe said the new stores coming to Barefoot Landing and the improvements to the area are all a sign her decision to open a new store will be a success.

Barefoot landing's marketing director said 6 out of the 10 new stores also have a store at Broadway at the Beach.

News13 tried but we couldn't get a comment from Burroughs and Chapin which owns both venues to see if this move was strategic.
