Hannah Rucker

Although she’s a Texas native, Hannah has always had a deep love for the Palmetto State. Taking trips to South Carolina as a young girl, she always knew she wanted to make it back.

She joined the WBTW team in October 2017 and covers a wide range of stories on the Grand Strand. You can catch her anchoring the weekend evening shows and reporting during the week.

Originally from Dallas, Hannah attended school in the southern region of the Lone Star State at Texas State University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Psychology. She anchored the school’s newscast, Bobcat Update and even dabbled in weather. She also reported for the school’s radio station KTSW 89.9 FM and had her own segment called “Going Global.” During college, she interned at KXAN News in Austin, where she helped reporters with crime and political stories.

Hannah spent a summer in India where she learned she had a passion for learning about different cultures and socioeconomic groups. In June 2016 she began working at KLBK/KAMC in Lubbock, Texas as a multimedia journalist where her news beat was poverty. She covered a series of stories in low income communities honing in on crime, drug addictions and mental health.

When Hannah isn’t at work, you can find her exploring forests, walking the beach, or trying new restaurants with her friends. She also loves live music and dancing.
