Manny Martinez joined the News13 team as a multimedia journalist in June 2021 after graduating from Syracuse University. He is excited to get to know the area first hand and share the stories of the community.
Manny got his start in broadcasting at his high school’s radio station, and he was also part of the school’s television and film program.
At Syracuse University, Manny worked at the student-run television station as an anchor and analyst on the political news show “Talking Points.” He also interned at the local NPR affiliate where he worked on feature stories on the education beat. He graduated with a degree in broadcast journalism and a minor in political science.
As a native of Glenview, Illinois, which is just north of Chicago, Manny is an avid Cubs fan. Don’t worry. His fandom began before 2016. You can catch him at Pelicans games enjoying a good ballgame and scouting potential future Cubs. Manny also enjoys spending time riding his bike, playing tennis, and he just picked up playing pickleball. His golf game is just okay.
Connect with Manny if you are also interested in any of the following things: news theme songs and graphics, history, baseball, IndyCar, NASCAR, and Formula 1. Don’t be afraid to stop him to chat if you see him around town. He’s eager to get to know the people of Myrtle Beach. Manny es bilingüe y también habla español.
If you have a news tip or story idea, reach Manny on Twitter, shoot him an email, or call his office number at (843) 294-8343.
