Police, SLED investigate after body found in car in Chesterfield Co.

CHERAW, SC (WBTW) – Police and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division are investigating after a body was found in a car in Chesterfield County.

Someone called Cheraw police around 7:45 a.m. on Monday after they saw a car in a vacant lot on Marlboro Street, according to Cheraw Police Chief Keith Thomas. Police arrived and found a woman’s body in the car.

SLED has responded to assist the Cheraw Police Department, Chief Thomas said. An autopsy is scheduled to determine a cause of death.
