MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Jack Smith joined News13 NOW at 9 a.m. on Wednesday to preview an auction and bluegrass concert in Darlington that will benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
The society funds research to find a cure for blood cancers. According to the society, 1,290,773 people in the US are either living with, or are in remission from, leukemia, lymphoma or myeloma.
Smith said he has one of the conditions and benefits directly from the society covering some of the cost of his medication.

Smith organized an auction and concert on Saturday, February 17, 2018. Lots of items, including a trip to Nashville will be auctioned.
