It costs $1 for daily admission to the pool, but the lessons are free and open to any ages 5 to 18 years old. .

Darlington police chief, Danny Watson, says it’s a good opportunity for parents who may have never learned how to swim themselves.

“And there are a lot of parents out there that just frankly don’t know how to swim. so this gives them, if they can’t teach their kids how to swim, this gives us an opportunity to be able to do it for them doesn’t cost anything,” said Watson.

The lessons last through June 25th from 10:30 to 11:15 in the morning at the pool at 115 Gary St., with Friday as a rain date.
