Firefighters respond to fire at recycling center in Myrtle Beach

Myrtle Beach firefighters responded to a recycling center and put out a fire in a scrap metal bin on Monday morning, according to tweets from the department.

At 9:46 a.m. Monday the department tweeted that firefighters were on scene of a vehicle fire of of Stockholder Ave. at the Waccamaw Recycling Center.

By 10:05, the department reported the fire was under control. Later tweets indicated the fire started around 9:30 a.m. in a scrap bin. The fire was originally reported as a vehicle fire that had spread to a nearby scrap trailer.

No injuries were reported.
