Habitat for Humanity starts “Collegiate Challenge”; students to volunteer in Horry County

On Monday, Habitat for Humanity kicked off its “Collegiate Challenge,” where college students come to spend their spring break volunteering.

Groups from across the country will spend the next six weeks volunteering in Horry County.

“I just wanted to spend my break doing something that mattered and to help people, and it’s also a little warmer here than up in Rochester right now, so that’s pretty nice,” said Bailey Latourette, a Roberts Wesleyan College Student.

For more than 25 years, Habitat has provided alternative school break volunteer opportunities to high school and college students.
