Horry County rescue workers use chainsaw to get to driver, ladder to transport

GALIVANTS FERRY, SC (WBTW) – Horry County Fire Rescue workers used a chainsaw to remove a person trapped in a car in the woods on Sunday night.

At about 10:30 p.m., crews were called to the area of Highway 501 in Galivants Ferry for a vehicle in the woods.

After cutting through the woods and the car, rescue workers were able to extricate the driver and move the person from the woods across a ladder and into the ambulance.

The patient was transported to the Grand Strand Region Medical Center in serious condition.

No further information on how the accident happened or the condition of the patient is available at this time.
