HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — A 24-year-old man died after he was hit by a pickup truck early Sunday morning on Highway 31, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The Horry County Coroner’s Office said the 24-year-old was identified as De’Ron Bellamy, of Calabash, North Carolina.

The incident happened at about 2:15 a.m. along Highway 31 at Water Tower Road in the Myrtle Beach area, according to the coroner’s office.

A GMC pickup truck was traveling north on Highway 31 where Bellamy was walking in the roadway, SCHP said. The pickup truck hit and killed Bellamy.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
