Children in one Conway neighborhood won’t have to go far to find a book to read.

CREATE Conway celebrated the opening of new Little Free Library on Racepath Avenue on Saturday. It’s located next to the Racepath Community Garden.

The Little Free Library is open 24 hours a day. Anyone can pick up a book for free, and drop off a book in return, at some point. Organizers wanted to make books more accessible for families along Racepath, especially since school is letting out soon.

“In this neighborhood the children can’t walk to the library because we have Highway 501 and 378. And so it’s hard for the younger children, families, young mothers with small children, to get to the library,” said Barbara Streeter, President of CREATE Conway.

This was the second Little Free Library to open in Conway. CREATE Conway plans to have six throughout the city by the end of the year.
