RED SPRINGS, NC (WBTW) – Two men are charged in connection to a fatal shooting in Robeson County on Sunday.

Jonathan Revels, 52, of 201 Kate Denny Road, Red Springs, has been charged with second degree murder, and Howard Pierce, 59, of 251 Denny Road, Red Springs, has been charged with possession of firearm by felon, according to the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office.

The shooting happened at the residence of Revels – 201 Kate Denny Road – at about 3:30 p.m. Sunday, said Major Anthony Thompson in a press release. 31-year-old Jason Hunt of Lumberton was killed.

Sheriff’s Office investigators believe Hunt went to the home at 201 Kate Denny Road to retrieve belongings. They believe while he was there Howard Pierce, the owner of the home, left his home next door with Revels. Thompson said the three men got into an altercation in which Revels shot Hunt.

Thompson said Hunt died before he could be taken to a hospital.

The investigation is continuing, Thompson said.
