Myrtle Beach police investigating 2 overnight shootings

Officers with the Myrtle Beach Police Department are investigating two shooting incidents that occurred Friday night, according to a press release. 

The first incident happened at around 10 p.m.when officers were called to Sharkey’s Beach Bar on North Ocean Boulevard in reference to a fight. While responding officers heard a gunshot nearby. It was determined to be an accidental discharge, no injuries were reported. Police have one person in custody in connection to the case. 

The second incident happened at around 11:40 in the 700 block of North Ocean Boulevard. When officers arrived on scene they found one person with a gunshot wound. That person was taken to the hospital, their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. 

One person has been detained in connection to the second incident.
