DARLINGTON, SC (WBTW) – The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a crash invloving a school bus Tuesday morning in Darlington County.

Darlington County Schools Public Information Officer Audrey Childers said the incident happened on McIver Road when a car ran into the back of a school bus carrying 34 students on the way to Brunson-Dargen and Cain Elementary schools.

SCHP’s website reported the crash happened around 7:00 a.m. on East McIver Road near Riverview Road.

A viewer submitted a photo of the scene later in the morning that shows the front of the car and rear of the bus engulfed with flames.
