Missing person investigation in Darlington County resolved

UPDATE: The investigation turned out to be a missing person search, according to authorities, and the person has returned home.


LAMAR, S.C. (WBTW) — Multiple agencies in Darlington County are conducting some kind of investigation, though few details have been provided.

On Monday afternoon, a News13 crew saw first responders from the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office, the Darlington County Fire District, the Hartsville Police Department and the Hartsville Fire Department at a home on Lawson Grove Road, near Lamar Highway. This is northeast of the Town of Lamar.

Emergency crews put up a tent outside the home before 5 p.m. A 4-wheeler was also seen.

News13 spoke to Darlington County Sheriff James Hudson, who is not releasing any information at this time. The Hartsville Police Department directed News13 to the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office. The Darlington County Fire District told us that no information was available to be released at this time.
