Rashad Carraway decided to honor his fallen father, Florence police Sgt. Terrence Carraway, with a tribute in ink.

Rashad got his father’s likeness tattoed on his upper arm. It shows his father in his dress uniform.

Sgt. Carraway was one of the officers killed in an ambush shooting at Vintage Place in Florence County last October. Sgt. Carraway was a 30 year veteran of the department and was heavily involved in youth sports and mentoring.

“My friend, my brother, Sgt. Terrence Carraway laid down his life in a supreme act of devotion for the people who are so precious to him,” Florence Police Chief Allen Heidler said during Carraway’s last call. “The City of Florence Police Department salutes a true hero, Police Sgt. Terrence F. Carraway, call sign cruiser 2, badge number 272, retired. End of Watch, October 3, 2018.”
