ISLE OF PALMS, SC – Sunday the Charleston County Coroner confirmed 53-year-old Jonathan Argoe, a resident of Isle of Palms, died of a gunshot wound.

His wife, Doris Spann Argoe, 44, faces murder charges and is booked at the Al Cannon Detention Center.

The shooting happened on 24th Avenue on the Isle of Palms. Police and EMS responded to the home around 4:15 Saturday.

On scene, neighbors told WCBD-TV they saw the man being wheeled from the home on a stretcher. The woman left in handcuffs.

WCBD reported that police records indicated Doris Argoe shot Jonathan Argoe with a handgun in a domestic dispute and then cut herself with a knife to make it look like self-defense.

Jonathan Argoe was taken to MUSC where he was pronounced dead Saturday evening.

The Isle of Palms Police Department is still investigating the incident.
