LUMBERTON, NC (WBTW) – Police in Lumberton have little to go off of after a man was shot while sitting at a traffic light in Lumberton Monday night.

Captain Terry Parker with the Lumberton Police Department says a 38-year-old man was shot once while sitting in his vehicle at the intersection of Crandlemire Road and Marion Road at the traffic light just after 8 p.m. Monday night.

The man drove himself to the hospital where he was treated for a single gunshot wound, Capt. Parker confirms.

At this time it does not appear his injury is life-threatening. Details are very limited. Police say the only detail from the shooting is that the suspect may have been in a black car.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Evan Whitley at the Lumberton Police Department 910-671-3845.
