Camp Lejeune marine dies after having to be rescued from water in Emerald Isle

Justin Andrew Hinds, 28 of Avondale, Arizona has passed away after being rescued from the water in Emerald Isle on Saturday.

Officials say EMS got a call around 4:23pm, when they arrived, friends had already pulled Hinds from the water.

He was taken to Carteret Health, where he died.

Town beach parks were marked with yellow flags, winds were out of the southwest at 10-15 MPH, the water was around 67 degrees, and surf conditions were reported at 3-5 feet, according to officials.

Hinds was a Marine stationed at Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville.
