Police arrest man wanted in 2 North Carolina murders who may have been in South Carolina

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTW) — Police have arrested a man wanted for two murders in North Carolina who possibly could have been in South Carolina.

Malek Anthony Moore was arrested at about 1:35 p.m. in Greensboro by the Greensboro Police Department.

Moore was wanted for first-degree murder, first-degree kidnapping, and first-degree burglary in connection with an investigation in Charlotte, according to the FBI. He’s also believed to be involved in multiple other violent crimes since Sept. 2.

According to WGHP in Greensboro, Moore was wanted in connection with a murder after a person was found dead Friday. WJZY reports he was also wanted out of Charlotte for murdering a Hurricane Ida evacuee at an art studio Monday.

Moore may have been in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, or surrounding states, according to the FBI.

Moore is held in the Guilford County Jail without bond, according to the FBI.
