ST. PAULS, NC (WBTW) – The grand opening of the first home built after Hurricane Matthew in Robeson County was held on Monday.

The house was built using money from a community block grant.

The West family’s new home sits on East Broad Street in St. Pauls, just north of Lumberton.

“Rebuild NC has, I can’t even tell you what it means to us to have a new house, mortgage free, paid for, brand new, don’t have to worry about anything. You know, we’re going live here for years and years,” said Roberta West, who received the new home.

A part of Robeson County still recovers from Hurricane Matthew and even more still recovers from Hurricane Florence.
