MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster said he will fight President Joe Biden and radical democrats “to the gates of hell” after Biden gave a speech announcing new vaccine mandates.
McMaster said the American Dream “has turned into a nightmare” under Biden and radical democrats.
“They have declared war against capitalism, thumbed their noses at the Constitution, and empowered our enemies abroad,” McMaster said in a tweet.
“Rest assured, we will fight them to the gates of hell to protect the liberty and livelihood of every South Carolinian,” he added.
Attorney General Alan Wilson said his staff has started to look into the law and its legal standing.
“We will vigorously defend the rule of law and fight any overreach that my limit individuals personal freedoms,” Wilson said.
McMaster’s communication’s director Brian Symmes said “the governor is working now to determine the most effective way to unburden South Carolina businesses and their employees from the gratuitous mandates announced by the Biden Administration.”
Joe Cunningham, who is running to unseat McMaster in 2022 said McMaster’s decisions are killing people.
“These kinds of ridiculous statements are exactly why we’re still in this mess,” he said in a tweet responding to McMaster. “Governor, we know you’re worried [about] re-election, but no one cares. We want to get back to normal. But your decisions are killing our people. Step up and do your job or step aside for someone who will.”
This comes as Biden announced new vaccine mandates, including using OSHA to require employers with more than 100 employees to require vaccinations or weekly testing.
