Suspect arrested after manhunt following police chase through Marion and Dillon Counties


A search for a suspect following a chase that started in Marion County has ended with the person being arrested. 

Sheriff Brian Wallace of the Marion County Sheriff’s Office tells us that the suspect was arrested after a K9 team tracked him down in the woods near where the suspect crashed after a police chase. 

According to Cpl. Sonny Collins with the South Carolina Highway Patrol the chase started in Marion County and ended when the suspect ran off the road and crashed into a ditch in the Fork area of Dillon County near Highway 41 and Highway 57. 

The Mullins Police Department is leading the investigation. South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office are assisting.
